This show is notable for a few reasons.
This is the only show I have ever seen at the 9:30 Club
that had pyrotechnics.
I wasn’t even thinking about going into the pit. I had
seen Slipknot twice on that tour before and interviewed
Clown. Plus I knew the audience was nuts so I was
content to hang back.
As soon as the lights went out, two guys got behind me
and started pushing me like a football sled THROUGH
the sold out crowd. The next thing I knew, I was up front
at the barricade through no effort of my own. It took all
of 20 seconds. Clown threw me a drum stick, though.
