| SHOWS THAT KICKED MY ASS: PART 1 |
This is probably the most insane show I've ever
been to.
This was obviously the first time ever that a metal
show of that caliber at the had EVER played that
venue. Merriweather Post Pavilion usually hosts
concerts like Jimmy Buffet. The heaviest hosted by
the venue up until that point were bands like Dio,
Ozzy, Def Leppard, etc. So for this show that had
the same security as they would have for an INXS
concert (I.e. college girl with walkie talkies and a
handful of bigger guys to handle any drunks.
Apparently no one at the venue expected
hundreds of people from the lawn to STAMPEDE
into the pavilion and into the pit area for EVERY
band on the bill, which they did. It was chaos at it’s
finest. Biohazard was great. Sepultura was
awesome, Pantera was amazing! I got the pick you
see from that show and you can tell the pick is one
Dimebag actually played with by the raised lines
that help you grip the pick.
