SHOWS THAT KICKED MY ASS: PART 12
Being a complete White Zombie freak, I saw them 4 times
on their tour for the Astrocreep album. I saw them three
times on the tour for the album before that.

Two of the shows on that tour would come later with
Pantera. These two shows were towards the beginning
of the tour.

The Merriweather Post show was White Zombie, Babes
in Toyland, The Reverend Horton Heat and Kyuss. It was
ungodly hot that day. The forecast was 104 degrees.
Through all of the opening acts, I just sat there sweating
my ass off.

But when Zombie came out, it was on. When the curtain
parted, I went lost my mind. The stage set was insane.
Lights, video screens, pyro, clowns nailed to crosses…I
had never seen so much stuff packed onto a stage like
that. They really took it to the next level on that tour.

After I got home and showered, I STILL couldn’t stop
sweating for a hour.

Later that year The played near DC with The Ramones
opening. Another killer show. This time it was indoors
during winter so there wasn’t the imminent threat of
heat exhaustion.
