SHOWS THAT KICKED MY ASS: PART 6
TWO of my favorite bands on the same bill…plus this
was the first time I ever saw the Deftones. I saw the
same show a week earlier in Philly but this show stands
out because the day before the show I got a phone call
from Pantera’s management.

I was in White Zombie’s fan club at the time. White
Zombie and Pantera had the same management
company. Since I bought the tickets for that show
through Zombie’s fan club, Pantera’s people called me
and asked if I wanted backstage passes to meet Pantera.

Uh…HELL YES!!

Phil did not show up for the meet and greet because
there was the crazy stalker chick with a black eye that
kept showing up a various gigs on the tour and she was
at that show. The rest of the band was very cool. Dime
remembered me from the Philly show because I was up
front at the barricade in front of him at both shows. It
was apparent that Dimebag was just as big a fan of
music as anyone else there. If you had a cool t-shirt on
of a band he liked, he’d trade you for it. Some guy had
this crazy Lynyrd Skynrd shirt and he got the guy a
Zombie/Pantera tour “crew only” shirt in trade for it. The
guys signed autographs and hung out after the show.
